If so your vehicle could be stolen using a relay attack, where thieves use a device to amplify the signal from the owner's key fob, even if it's inside their home, and trick the vehicle into thinking the fob is nearby. Once the signal is captured, it's relayed to another device held near the vehicle, allowing the thieves to unlock and start the vehicle. This process can be done quickly and silently, leaving little trace of the theft.
