Speeding and parking issues in Calder Vale

20th of May, 2020

Calder Vale is a small village with a single track road running the length of the village and due to the increasing number of vehicles per household parking along the road is becoming increasingly difficult for pedestrians and road users to safely pass through the village. There are sections of the road where parking is causing vehicles driving on the nearside to drive on to the offside of the single track road and potentially in to oncoming vehicles.

The Road Policing Team and the Garstang Neighbourhood Police Team have been asked to respond to these complaints and they are looking into the possibility of carrying out Community Road Watch in the village and the stopping and checking of vehicles, drivers and vehicle documentation, to ensure all are roadworthy.
